Thank you for visiting our site. As you may have noticed we have made some changes to the look and feel of this resource. Our goal is to help you easily find the information you need.
As we begin a new semester of continuing education courses, we would like to remind you of some important information to help make the registration process easier. We are available for technical support Monday through Friday between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
First, make sure that you are using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox (or Safari for Apple/Mac users) as your browser. We recommend not using Internet Explorer due to some incompatibility issues between myNewJersey and Internet Explorer’s various updates. Second, be ready to update your email address. You should use an email address that is permanent. What we mean by permanent is that you are using a service such as Yahoo, Gmail, or MSN. In other words, it is NOT an email service provided by the company providing your internet service such as Comcast or Verizon because you will lose this type of email address if you switch carriers. Once you are logged in to your myNewJersey account, we recommend checking that the email address listed on your myNewJersey profile page and the NJ Division of Fire Safety Personal Information page are the same and up to date. Third, please take a few minutes to browse our collection of videos designed to help you navigate myNewJersey. We cover topics such as:
- How to create a myNewJersey account
- How to login to myNewJersey
- How to reset your password
- How to link an already created myNewJersey account
- How to register for courses
- How to update your email address on your personal information page
Fourth, once you begin the registration process, please remember that you should NOT type any of the course codes at any point or use any drop down button. You will use the SCROLL FORWARD button at the top of the page until you see the course you would like to register into within the grid. Each page of the grid displays 13 courses organized alpha numerically by course code. Once the course you are looking for is displayed, you will click on the red Line Number that corresponds to the line on the grid where the course is displayed. Click here for a picture of the screen.
Fifth, before you call, please be aware that there are links on the myNewJersey login screen, to assist you in the event that you have forgotten your ID or Password. If you call, please be sure to have your fire service ID available and be ready to access the internet. Our office phone number is 908-737-0230.
